Brian Slater, AAMS®

Wealth Advisor

Brian’s rich family military background taught him a sense of duty and service from a young age. For five generations the Slater men have served their country in all branches of the military and fought during World War I, World War II, and Vietnam. A veteran military policeman, Brian served his country for six years in the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Illinois National Guard, stationed in his hometown of Peoria, Illinois. During his service, he received the prestigious Air Force Achievement Medal twice for his outstanding service and humanitarian efforts. Although he learned the true meaning of the three core military principles while serving – integrity, trust, and honor – he continues to live his life and conduct business on the foundation of this code.

Brian is also a fifth generation Peorian, so when the time presented itself to enter the financial services industry in 2003, it only made sense to serve his home community of Peoria, Illinois. With a goal to remove all conflicts of interest to better serve his clients, he founded Slater Wealth Management and is now an independent Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial. His desire to keep his family history rich in the Peoria area has only deepened over the years and his commitment to serve his fellow Peorians is his top priority.

Holding the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial, Brian is licensed to sell a variety of investment options, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. He is also an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) and is licensed to sell life insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuities. He is a graduate of Peoria High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Illinois University.

Brian married his college sweetheart, Layla, in 2001 and they share two children, Noah and Abigail. When not working with you, his spare time is spent sitting on various local boards, volunteering and attending fundraising events that benefit local organizations and playing football and basketball with high school friends.
